Service-Oriented Attitude

If your attitude toward customers, and the role of a customer service employee, is anything less than totally positive and enthusiastic, you are standing in the way of your own success and happiness. You will resent every customer you talk to and you will probably dread going to work. It is really up to you. If you want to stay in the job you have now, and if you want to be happy, you will have to do things differently.

YOUR JOB CAN BE FUN!

The first step is believing that you can think and feel a different way. No matter where you work, no matter whom your customers are, no matter what your position in the company or how long you've worked there, it is possible to turn the situation around. It is possible to be happier and more successful than you might imagine.

Start by making a commitment to do what's best for you, to improve your skills and your attitudes. Once you've made that commitment, you're well on your way to a different attitude and experience at work.

The second step is remembering one simple fact. Every dollar in every paycheck came from the same place: a customer. It is because of your customers that your company, and your job, even exists.

Doesn't it make sense to appreciate the people who are putting food on your table?
